Top Interior Design Trends for 2022 According to Experts

December 31, 2021 / by admin

Before we knew it, the year 2021 was behind us amidst the chaos as we adjusted to the new normal of a hybrid working model, accepted the inevitable as another COVID variant made its way into our lives and said goodbye to yet another year with high hopes for the New Year. As the world around us evolves, our design experts share their thoughts on key interior design trends for the year 2022.

Wanderlust

As the COVID travel regulations will begin to ease up globally once the Omicron variant case levels dip, the frustration of lost travel opportunities will begin to turn more hopeful. One of the key Interior design trends for the year is thus going to be travel and wanderlust. This trend would reflect in the interiors in the form of collectible wall arts depicting gorgeous destinations and craft souvenirs from around the world.

A Color affair

Say goodbye to all-white interiors and make room for a nature-inspired color palette to adorn your walls. The monotony of our lives during the pandemic is inspiring people to experiment with color again and neutral interiors are expected to take a back seat this year. Expert favorite? Earthy browns!

Organic touch

Series of lockdowns and confinement has led us to have a newfound appreciation for all things nature and spending time outdoors. Furniture and surfaces that mimic the tactile and visual textures inspired by nature are going to be key for interior styling this year. Think organic tones, wood, marble, indoor plants, etc if you are considering revamping your interiors.

High tech and dual-purpose homes

Open layout home trend is making its way out for partitioned living spaces to support the hybrid work model. This change in trend along with high-speed Internet and smart homes for better energy consumption are essentials now. We are looking at spaces and furniture that have dual functions; our kitchen island is moonlighting as our workstation and magically transforms into a family breakfast spot in the mornings. The living room is our new lounge area and conference room.
